KABUKI SPRING HARVEST JAPANESE GREEN TEA

SPRING 2015 HARVEST -- This tea blends exquisite, rare, shade-grown kabuse green tea from southern Japan with the Spring season's sakura (cherry) blossoms, creating a classic and refined green tea. Hand plucked, antioxidant-laden, tender jade leaves are neatly trimmed leaving only the freshest and most vibrant tips. The scattered whole and broken cherry blossoms lighten the look of the tea, and are a welcome addition to the deep color of the tea leaves. The resulting brew is a lightly vegetal broth of a deep green, with a umami richness. The aroma is bright and delicately sweet, but mellows out after an initial taste of your cup. The flavor is pure Spring, like flower nectar, with the singular flavor of fruity and floral cherry. Steep a second time for less cherry sweetness and a more grassy, steamed butter lettuce note.
